Sunday school

Sundays at 9 Am

Every week, we have an opportunity for everyone in our church to grow at the same time. On Sunday mornings before worship, adults, children, and youth gather for Sunday School at 9:00. This hour provides an opportunity to learn, connect, and grow in ways that our Worship service alone does not. We believe this time is particularly important for the growth of our children and youth.

Adults

Join us for our Fall Classes (beginning August 20):
These communities are intergenerational.

  • Judges: Stories of a Needed King. Led by Richard Vise in Room 101
*A new class beginning Oct. 1. If you haven't joined us for Sunday School yet, this is a great opportunity to jump into a new class. Come study some of the most gripping stories of the Bible and how they reveal the mercy of God and our need for Christ.

  • Alive in Christ: A Study of Ephesians, led by Norman Crow, Brent Pettus, and Daniel Pruet in Room 102
Paul’s letter to the Ephesians is a source of great encouragement, clearly proclaiming the mystery of the gospel and the supremacy of Jesus while applying that theology to practical living. Made alive in Christ, believers have received a bountiful inheritance and lavish blessings from God, fueling us for holy living.
In this class, we hope to have our eyes opened to Paul’s teaching about God’s astonishing grace―grace that enables us to walk in love, holiness, and wisdom as we become imitators of Christ. We hope you’ll join us this Fall!

  • Practicing Parenting, Led by Greg Meyer in Room 104
Parenting can often feel like trying to grab hold of the wind!  It’s so challenging to maintain your bearings and keep a godly, big picture perspective through the up’s and down’s of daily life with infants all the way up through teenagers and young adults.  While we greatly benefitted from the teaching of Dr. John Cox and our Parenting Conference in February, we realize much more conversation and support is needed for us to collectively teach and disciple our children.  In this class, we plan to have conversations about the cultural context into which are kids are growing up, the different developmental stages our kids are moving through, the different stages of parenting, what different milestones (emotional, social, and spiritual) we should be aiming for in raising our kids, as well as how to practically disciple our kids in the day-to-day as a family. We hope you’ll join in the conversation with us!

  • Unable to Commit to a class this fall? Join us for a Fellowship Hour!
One of the ways we grow together as the family of God is through fellowship — intentional, encouraging, personal interaction with other believers.  This is especially important when so many of us live incredibly busy lives. Because of this, we’re creating some time and space each week during the Sunday School hour for members of our church family to gather and grow together through conversation and prayer.  We’ll hope you’ll join us in the Hearth Room to enjoy a cup of coffee, engage in conversation with our team of hosts as well as each other, and be encouraged in your walk with the Lord!

College students: we have a class for you! – Join us in sanctuary after the worship service for a discussion of that morning's sermon.
