Our New Music Director!

Welcome Wil Brown & Family!

Dear Trinity Church,

We are excited to announce that the Session has hired Wil Brown to be our next Worship Director! Thank you for praying and supporting our search process.

Wil is married to Natalie Brown, and together they have three children; Carter (11), Winnie (10), and Rucker (6). Wil grew up in Mississippi and eventually relocated south to Florida. He spent the majority of his formative years in Orlando. He attended Rollins College for his undergraduate studies, where he majored in Music Education with a Minor in Classical Vocal Performance. In 2016 he earned his Master’s degree from Robert Webber’s Institute for Worship Studies. He is also currently enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary, pursuing a Master’s in Theological Studies. Wil served at First Presbyterian Church of Orlando as the Director of Contemporary Worship from 2006-2018. From 2019-2023, he served at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, GA. Wil is a passionate worship leader, songwriter, and arranger, but his heart is for God’s local church.

The Browns are preparing to move to Tuscaloosa in late April, with Wil’s first Sunday as our Worship Director in early May.

Our search began to surface applicants in November, and each was asked to provide a resume and samples of his worship leading. Quickly after Wil applied, it became clear that his gifts, experience, and philosophy of worship would be well suited to strengthen the ministry of our church. After many conversations on the phone, the Browns came to Tuscaloosa for their first interview. Then they returned for a second interview and to lead a worship service for us. Many have expressed how well they were led that morning and how much they appreciated Wil’s gifts and personality.

The Session, staff, and worship team could not agree more.

“When I met Wil, I was impressed with how friendly he was as we talked about his vision for leading worship through music. When I heard Wil sing and play, I was amazed at the talents God has given him. I believe Wil will be a great addition to the worship ministry at Trinity!”—Bob Falls

"I am excited to have Wil and his family come to Trinity to lead our worship ministry. I feel that he has a rich history of leading both traditional and contemporary styles of worship music. He is a gifted musician and singer and will be an asset to our staff here at Trinity. His leadership and relational style of ministry are flexible and welcoming to others that lead alongside him. Join me in praying for Wil and Nat and their children as they transition to Tuscaloosa and TPC."—Mark Brown

A word from Wil:

"Trinity, we could not be more excited to come alongside you in ministry. Our family is thrilled! You’ve been so kind, accommodating, and hospitable during this process, and for that, we’re incredibly grateful. Our Triune God has given us the gift of His church and the community that comes with it. In our gatherings, we experience the symbols of our faith, prayer, the proclamation of God’s Word, the beauty of the sacraments, and the worship of God’s people. The Bible is replete with instruction on how and why we worship and what a gift it is! In general, I love music and have spent years studying it and improving my skills as a musician and leader, but there is nothing better than when music is used to lift the spirts, hearts, and eyes of God’s people to fix our gaze on the resurrected and ascended King! I’m very passionate about God’s call on my life, and I understand the importance and responsibility of what I’ve been charged to do. I promise to faithfully and thoughtfully lead you each week. We will grow together in our love for the Lord and our passion for praising his name! Thank you for your support, and please join our family in prayer as we work on all of the transitional pieces — selling our house here, finding a home in Tuscaloosa, finishing strong at Peachtree, etc. We are unbelievably excited about starting this next chapter of our lives with each of you. See you soon!!!" – Wil Brown

I have worked alongside Wil at Peachtree Pres for years. He and his family also became close friends. I only hope he will do for you what he has at Peachtree. What a lucky congregation you are! Our loss is your gain. Enjoy!!!
